Bringing the girls down an inch or two

Unions in the UK have called for an end to women wearing high heels in the workplace.

In the articles I read on the matter, it seemed to be unclear as to whether the issue was one of health, preventing foot and back issues, or of some feministic impulse, stopping women wearing ‘degrading’ footwear.

Mario or Jerry Maguire?

First Google in the US topped the list in Fortune’s list of top 100 workplaces. Only a few steps behind has been Google Australia, who have come first in a similar list based on a survey by Aussie magazine, BRW.

But even even the best workplaces occasionally have troubles with retaining staff. This week’s biggest hero award possibly goes to a games producer who on Wednesday, quit his job via a Mario styled game that he had created. Unlike many of the humorous videos, images, and stories of people quitting their jobs that circulate online, there is no malice intended with this game with the creator moving on to pursue indie game development. The game even ends with great sentiment, saying ‘GO TEAM!’.
