Import your contacts easily

October 24th, 2008 Grant Posted in Using ZaaBiz, business contacts No Comments »

The team at ZaaBiz has spent some time refining our ‘Import you Contacts’ function on our website. This is an exciting update for our company and for all our members. From the perspective of our members, they can now comile a comprehensive list of contacts from a variety of sources, in their ZaaBiz profile. Members thus have access to all their existing contacts as well as the business networking contacts they have already compiled through the site.

From the perspective of the ZaaBiz team, we are very excited about the prospect of exponential growth as word of ZaaBiz spreads quickly through email servers throughout the Asia Pacific Region and beyond. As users have additional contacts in their list, we anticipate that they will become even more active on the site. Whilst this is exciting, we are all also anticipating plenty of hard work. This growth will also come on top of the rapid expansion which has been occurring organically even prior to the updating of this function.

The range of sources from which users can compile their contacts includes gmail, yahoo!, rediffmail, hotmail, indiatimes, aol, linkedin and hi5 and the function is easily accessible from each member’s Start Page. With all that access its not hard to see why ZaaBiz claims to Empower Business Networks!

Have an easy day…

October 23rd, 2008 Anabel Posted in Inside ZaaBiz, Using ZaaBiz, networking event, online marketing No Comments »

… the song plays in the radio (actually from the Banana Fishbones) and I am thinking whether this is the song representing my job: these days we are torn between the financial difficulties of the credit crisis and new members flooding ZaaBiz in order to find a new job. It is not an easy day for them, that’s for sure.

Today is the day when we were ‘celebrating’ the last day of Andreas in Sydney. He’s been with us for a few months and for some of us in our team here in Sydney it is hard to believe how our office in Surry Hills will look without him, as he is the constant, the guy who’s been there when everybody was gone - fishing! (no that is more of an Aussie saying) or has been with corporate clients or in general in talking to our members. We love talking to our members in getting ZaaBiz to become a better place.

Andreas is making his trip to the Himalayas and after that to Europe, where he resides in winter (that is the European winter = the true Aussie summer). He loves snowboarding - so this is understandable.

Tonight, we had many friends from 35 Buckingham street in Surry Hills come and say farewell. With Becks and Pure Blonde, with Aussie sparkling or simply water they came to say good-bye to a friend. It’s not an easy day, but we all know: he’ll be back as he loves the beaches, the sunshine, the Aussie lifestyle and overall Sydney, the best city in the world.

So - three cheers to Andreas - your ZaaBiz team in Sydney.

Searching improves brain function

October 16th, 2008 Grant Posted in Networking, News, Using ZaaBiz No Comments »

There are often suggestions made about ways to assist older individuals to remain mentally active after they retire. At this point retirees are rarely challenging themselves as they during their working lives. Scientific studies often suggest ways to to combat problems ranging from boredom to Alzeimer’s disease. Recent suggestions have included crossword and sudoku puzzles and retaining an active social life.

A recent study from a team of scientists at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and published in the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry has suggested that using search engines like Google can also help prevent late onset brain disorders. They have cited the need to formulate search queries and filter relevant results as having a positive impact on brain function particularly in middle aged to older individuals.

Here, at ZaaBiz, we have an even better solution. By searching on our site through your existing business contacts or searching for new business contacts not only will users obtain the benefits cited above, the networking itself will assist people to interact for business and socially. Our ZaaBiz Groups are really taking off

September 23rd, 2008 Michael Posted in Networking, Sydney, Using ZaaBiz 1 Comment »

ZaaBiz has focused from the very first weeks onwards on having Groups or so called micro communities to cater for topical or regional interests of our members. These Groups are managed by moderators who care for the content, the member administration and general traffic in these Groups. Groups are your easy way to stay in touch with your immediate business circle.

Our most populated Groups today each have more than 500 members, Australian Internet Marketing, Women in Business or How to promote your Business are just examples of this. Other Groups with a more regional approach are the ‘Business People in …’ Groups. You are in Sydney, Melbourne, Chennai, Mumbai or Bangalore: why not join one of these regional Groups exchanging ideas about the business going on in their towns.

And here is our offer to the ones of you, who cannot find your appropriate town in one of our Business People in … Groups: why don’t you found one yourself, ‘Business People in Adelaide’, ‘Business People in Delhi’, ‘Business People in Singapore’ or alike are fantastic opportunities for you to get your name out and recognised by thousands of our members on ZaaBiz. ZaaBiz member Brittney Mann has experienced tremendous growth with her Group ‘Business People in Sydney and since opening it a few weeks ago, the Group has grown to over 200 members. “I like managing my Group as it opens up new ways of connecting with other members on the platform,” she explains.

What’s new on the horizon?

July 28th, 2008 Sarah Posted in Networking, Using ZaaBiz No Comments »

Networking is a huge part of finding or being offered a new job. People tell their friends where to work based on a company’s profile and public opinion. Networkers keep their minds open to possibilities and there is always someone who knows someone, who knows someone who might be perfect for a certain position offered. The networking tree has many branches and its reach is far!

If you’re in a big business, then working on your company image is vital. Get a blog going, get on a networking site and raise your profile. Make sure your company profile is visible to as many people as possible and have a full time PR team covering all media bases.

If you are a small business, generally the same applies! Work on your e-marketing to increase your brand awareness amongst the general public, plus network with other small business owners and connect with those that inspire you.

Make sure your networking profile is current and  positions you as a forward thinking and moving business.

“Who moved my cheese?”

July 23rd, 2008 Sarah Posted in News, Using ZaaBiz 1 Comment »

I read this great little book a few months ago - it’s an oldie but a goodie!

‘Who Moved My Cheese?’
by Dr Spencer Johnson

It’s a great book written as a parable that is insightful and revealing. It’s about dealing with change in your work and in your life.

It helps you to:

  • Anticipate change
  • Adapt to change quickly
  • Enjoy change
  • Be ready to change quickly again and again

We all know that change is inevitable, whether it is in our personal or business world. Learn how to deal with change so you are less stressed when it comes around again!

A fun and insightful read.

New Opportunities…

July 21st, 2008 Sarah Posted in News, Using ZaaBiz 1 Comment »

An income alone is not enough to attract and keep good people, especially women.

More often than not, the employee is interviewing the employer/company with a very scrutinising eye!

What does the company do, how does it treat its employees, how does the company differ from other companies out there, and does the company have an environmental conscience?

Women want exciting and challenging positions. Women are interested in progressive employers who offer flexible working hours, training & development, networking opportunities, equal pay and even childcare facilities/options.

Find a new opportunity by searching & connecting to our ZaaBiz members online!

Too Busy to Brag?

July 18th, 2008 Sarah Posted in Networking, Using ZaaBiz No Comments »

Normally we would brag about what is great, fantastic, exciting, wonderful, helpful, useful and fabulous!

So would you agree that bragging is a good thing because we seem to be talking about something that sounds pretty good?

Bragging is easy because the ‘bragger’ is already a believer in the product, service, thing or person they are bragging about. It’s not a hard-sell; it’s an excited and interesting wealth of information about something. It’s all the good points rolled into a few seconds of bragging.

Bragging is the perfect way to get your business message out there. Plus, bragging is free, which makes it the cheapest form of marketing you can invest in.

Take a few minutes to review your business:

      What are the good points?

  •       How do you help people?
  •       What impact does your business have on your clients’ lives?
  •       What are you doing at the moment to improve your business?
  •       What excites you the most about your business right now?

Make time to attend a networking event and brag about your business. Tell people what you love about your business, the service you provide and how you help your clients.

Remember, you are not at a networking event to sell. You are there to make connections and to let people know you exist! Make time to brag about your business.

Follow-up and call your new contacts within a few days and arrange a time to meet to discuss how the business connection you’ve made together may lead to a long-lasting business relationship.
