Last week’s terror attack on Mumbai left all humanity shocked and stunned no matter whether based in India or abroad. Business people from all over the world have witnessed a terrible assault on humanity, an assault particularly on what makes India such an integrated part of today’s global society.

Our members on ZaaBiz have expressed their grief and concerns in many hundred posts and comments on our platform. Many of our members from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and other countries in Asia who are so deeply connected to India, that they feel this assault is a direct attack on them.

But with such an attack on the freedom of open business relationships there comes an opportunity. Chandramouli, Director of our media partner Blue Lotus PR in Mumbai says: “the only way to address this crucial and distressing issue is by becoming a part of the solution. After all, as long as India is ‘of the people, for the people, by the people’ we will be fully responsible for the change that we want to see in her.” And the foreign business community will be an integral part of this solution. Mouli’s business is based no more than 300m away from the Taj Mahal Hotel, one of the centers of the attacks.

So we at ZaaBiz are calling to take action for Change. We support the call from many of our business partners in India to come together and give peaceful expressions to the anger and anguish on Wednesday, 3rd December, 2008, at 6:00 pm. The venues in the major Indian cities are as follows:

-    Mumbai at the Gateway of India
-    Delhi will meet at the Central Park, Connaught Place
-    Hyderabad is meeting at Tank Bund, Telugutalli
-    Chennai will meet at Opposite Government Guest House, Behind M.A. Chidambaram Cricket Stadium
-    Bangalore at Cubbon Park
-    Kolkata at the Maidan

We are calling all our ZaaBiz professionals to capture your emotion and come to the venue(s) with your form of expression. Showcase it at the venue through a painting, elegy, song, poster, a lit candle, or by just holding hands. Offer your support against terrorism in your own way.

Take a little extra effort, bring those that you care about.  Let us begin the change for India. And, let us start by making a personal commitment for this Change.
