ZaaBiz at the TiE event in Sydney

It was a strong line-up of women entrepreneurs last night at the TiE event in Sydney. Google’s own Stephanie Hannon, Emma Lo Rousso President and COO of Altium Ltd. and the Skandinavian born entrepreneur Kaisu Christie spoke about how their respective businesses delivered global solutions.

Having managed several of Google’s applications such as maps or Gmail, American Stephanie Hannon made clear that not only small businesses would be delivering innovation, but that there are many entrepreneurs working in bigger organisations such as Google. Stephanie has relocated to Sydney from Zurich in order to supervise the launch of another new application from the internet giant; Australia being some kind of an innovation hub for Google itself.

Emma Lo Rousso impressed the audience with her amazing skills of managing a global business such as Altium (97% of the revenue of this Tasmanian headquartered company is made outside Australia), being a mother of three children and also maintaining a happy marriage. Her insights into the life of a global business woman were inspiring for all listeners.

Finish born Kaisu spoke about her desire to help Australian businesses become more sustainable and she tapped into the latest awareness of Australians trying to become more climate conscious.

All in all the event proved really useful both from understanding of how other businesses manage the challenges of going international and also by realising how important ZaaBiz as the platform has become in the past months for Australian professionals. More than half of the guests were already members on Asiapac’s fast growing networking platform and several others joined in the early hours of today.

“It is really exciting to have access to these highly inspiring business leaders at events like last night and to connect with them on ZaaBiz to be able to tap into each others networks,” ZaaBiz member Aarti Suri summarised the event. We fully agree with this statement.
